White Clinicians and Racial Awareness in Practice

This experiential training is designed to support White clinicians in deepening their racial self-awareness and exploring the impact of microaggressions within therapeutic relationships and organizational systems. Participants will examine how therapist identity—particularly Whiteness—shapes clinical practice and client experience. Through case-based learning, guided reflection, and interactive group work, participants will build the insight and skills necessary to recognize, respond to, and repair racial harm in real time.

This training emphasizes growth over guilt, equipping participants to foster more inclusive, attuned, and socially responsive therapy spaces.

Upon Completion, Participants will be able to: 

  • Recognize how White racial identity influences clinical presence, power dynamics, and decision-making

  • Identify microaggressions as they show up in therapeutic settings and institutional structures

  • Assess the impact of racial microaggressions on client engagement, safety, and outcomes

  • Distinguish between interpersonal and systemic microaggressions in clinical contexts

  • Develop intentional strategies for addressing and repairing racial harm at both client and organizational levels

    No recording is offered. Virtual attendees must be present and on camera for the entirety of the session in order to receive credits.
