Meet the Trainers
Lindsey Foss, LCMFT
Founder of Forward Together Counseling and FTC Learning
Meet Lindsey Foss, the founder of Forward Together Counseling and FTC Learning. She works with families, couples, individuals, and young children, with expertise in intercultural couples, immigrant families, and entrepreneurs in family-owned businesses.
With a strong background in both education and mental health, Lindsey previously worked as a teacher and educational administrator, giving her a unique perspective on the intersection of learning, development, and emotional well-being. She has extensive experience in crisis intervention, school-based therapy, and program administration, and has trained educators, therapists, and community leaders on best practices for supporting diverse populations.
Lindsey is passionate about training and mentoring therapists at all stages of their careers. As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, she provides clinical supervision, leads professional development workshops, and creates continuing education trainings focused on family therapy, trauma-informed care, and clinician well-being. Her background as a teacher and program administrator gives her a unique lens on learning, development, and emotional health.
She is a Foundational Theraplay practitioner and RYT-200 yoga teacher, integrating play and mindfulness into both therapy and training. Lindsey holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond, an M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland, and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.
Imani Bowman, LCPC, ACS
Director of Community and Clinical Programming
Meet Imani Bowman, the Director of Clinical and Community Programming at Forward Together Counseling. Imani not only oversees clinical programs but also plays a pivotal role in mentoring and training emerging clinicians. She is a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor and co-directs the practice’s Internship Program. Imani also develops and hosts Continuing Education (CE) programming for FTC Learning.
Imani is deeply passionate about making mental health care accessible and impactful. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those navigating life transitions, identity development, and cultural experiences. With a strong background in school-based therapy, community mental health, and outpatient care, Imani brings a wealth of experience to her work.
Beyond her clinical work, Imani is passionate about teaching, training, and equipping the next generation of therapists with the skills and confidence to serve their communities effectively. She believes that education is a transformative tool, not just for clients but for clinicians striving to become compassionate and competent professionals.
