School Based Mental Health Essentials

Working in school settings brings unique challenges and opportunities for mental health professionals. School-based clinicians must navigate multiple systems, collaborate with educators and caregivers, and respond to a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns—all while staying grounded in ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.

This foundational training equips mental health professionals with the essential knowledge and tools needed to thrive in school-based roles. Participants will explore the unique dynamics of school systems, strategies for effective collaboration, and best practices for supporting student mental health within the school context. From managing crises and facilitating classroom consultations to building relationships with school staff and caregivers, this training offers real-world guidance for making a meaningful impact in the lives of students.
